Edith had been having some trouble going to bed for a while now. She has some anxiety about the dark and being alone. Friday she asked if she could sleep in Eleanor's bed with her. Well it was Friday night so we figured that if there was little to no sleeping occurring than at least it wouldn't effect anyone's school day. Well it actually went really well. So we heaved Edith old convertible crib out of the attic and made it a toddler bed to put in Eleanor's room. Edith had never gone to bed so easily! It's really working out. So Eleanor and Edith will be sharing a room for a while. It's great when you can stumble upon such an easy fix for something that was giving you such a hard time. :)

Ok now lets talk Scooby Snacks.  There was a coupon in the BJ's booklet- buy Scooby-Doo fruit snacks get a free box of chocolate Cheerios.  We love chocolate Cheerio's here so we considered the fruit snacks.  I thought about it and decided 'Well they are made with natural flavors and contain lot's of vitamin C and they would probably be a good snack for Edith to bring to school.  Plus the free Cheerio's, well we can try them'.  Well Edith is on a total Scooby-Doo kick right now.  She can't get enough Scooby-Doo!  So when she saw those Scooby snacks she was so excited.  'Wow, this is great' I thought to myself.  Well, she can't get enough of the snacks.  And yah they have  vitamin C and natural flavors but they are made mostly of sugar.  Lot's of sugar.  She is a freakin' addict now.  She begs and cries for pack after pack.  What did I get myself into??

Dancing and Uncle Gerry

Last night I got a night out.  I went to Daniella's with Lauren, Alli, and Paula.  We danced our butts off!!  Lauren and I didn't leave until about 12:45.  By then we were worn out.  :D  but it was so fun!!

This morning we got  up early, got the kids ready for there weekend with Bob, and headed to RI for uncle Gerry's funeral.  It was so sad.  One of his grand daughters had written and read a very beautiful piece about him.  I was very impressed.  He seemed to have been a very fun and lovable man, the family has suffered a terrible loss in losing him.  The reception afterwards gave me a chance to get to know some of Joe's extended family better and I enjoyed my time with them.

Now we are home for the evening.  The house is quiet and the fire is warm.  I'm content.  Now I must go and spend some time cuddling up with Joe and enjoying our down time.  :)

Another snow day.

So the storm we got overnight was much worse than I had anticipated.  I had it in my head that we would get about 5 inches of snow and that it would taper off before any commuting need to take place and it would just be a normal day.  Not so much.  There was another 12 or so inches that need to be removed from the driveway and the vehicles.  The snow was heavy too.  So Joe and I worked together to get his car out of the driveway so he could get to work.  By the time we were done with that I was done with snow and decided that the van could remain in it's snow fortress for today and I'd just stay home.

Then we had a little fun with Footy.  We left the door open to see if she would go out in the snow.  She was apprehensive about it and didn't get past the threshold.

As you can see she initially tried to hide under Eleanor's wheelchair.  She slowly made her way  to the doorway though.

After the Footy fun and Joe had gone off to work I decided to rearrange the furniture in Eleanor's bedroom.  So here are some before and after pictures of Eleanor's bedroom project.

Edith spent a large portion of the morning running around naked.  She loves to be naked.

That's her with her red dog that calls Clifford.

Sadly we learned this morning that Joe's uncle passed away.  We will be attending the funeral Saturday morning in Rhode Island.

another day. :D

Today was another good one.  :D   Spent the morning at Lauren's, with Lauren and Lisa, enjoying some new tea I'd never tried before while Edith played quietly by herself with a Barbie Party Bus that Lauren found in the depths of her closet.  It had a hot tub and everything.  LOL  Luckily the batteries were dead so it couldn't play the Disco lick it was equipped with.  LOL  That would just have been too much.  LOL  It was a pretty cool bus though.  It had everything!
Eleanor had another great day at school.  Her note says she had art and computer today and did some good choice making during her switch activities.  Then Shawn came over and made her work hard during her at home PT session.  He's been trying to get her cruising down the hall using the wall for support.  She gets a bit more stable each week but the progress is still pretty slow.  And she does not like it, not one little bit.  To be forced to work at home is not her idea of a fun afternoon.  She's a trooper though that Eleanor.  She got extra kisses today for her extra hard work with Shawn.  :D
There's another snow storm brewing tonight Boston has already received a record 50" of snow fall already this season and January isn't over yet.  The average snowfall for the entire season is 42".  What kind of global warming is this???  LOL

Today was a fun day.  Nothing was especially different today then any other normal day, but I just seemed to find myself a little bit more entertained by the usual things.  :D
There are days when I drive Edith to school instead of walking her, mostly because the snow just wont quit around here and the side walks aren't clear enough to navigate. Today was one of those days and having gotten an inch or so coating of snow this morning I figured walking wasn't the way to go.  First thing we had to do to get on our way to school was clean off the car, which for Edith is not yet a chore it's a game.  So I got a cute little picture of her cleaning off my car.
Then, usually, when we get to the school drop off point I let her get in the front seat, where we sit and wait for the teachers to come out to get the kids who are eagerly awaiting them in their respective mom mobiles that are all lined up.  Today when Edith came up to the front there was a song on the radio that she must have thought was pretty cool because she started to boogie down.  It was just so cute I had to snap a couple pictures.

At another point today Edith was doing some blogging of her own on her laptop.  LOL  She's just too cute sometimes.

She also got a hold of my camera and took some pictures of her own.  It was just a silly day all around.  :D

She's so funny!
Eleanor had a fine day at school.  Worked hard as usual.  :D  I'm so proud of her!!  :D
Love those kids!  :D

Edith got her first salon haircut yesterday. She wanted her hair to be just like Holly's, even the color. We had to draw the line on the color. LOL! She had fun and her cut is soo cute except that she looks even older now. eesh.

21 January A Snow Day

Another Snow day. Eleanor is home from school and there is more shoveling to be done. Luckily we live on the friendliest road in Littleton. This time our neighbor Tom snowblowed the driveway for us. :D So while Tom was snowblowing it gave Edith, Berkley and I some time to play a little. While Eleanor played the bongo's in the warm living room, while listening to her ipod and having her lunch. :D
It sure was nice to see the sun today!
Later this evening we are off to visit Gramma Rose and Papa Harry for dinner. :D Then off to spend the night at Gammises house.

Zelda likes to snuggle up behind the coffee pot.

Heidi Madison

The terrible awful! :D
Lauren brought a chocolate pie to our book club meeting which is pretty funny since the book we were reviewing was "The Help".

20 Jan 2011

Today I'm starting a blog...Lets see how it goes.

Picked Edith up at school and took her to see Troy, Jesse and Champ, the neighbors horses. Champ who actually just boards there wasn't there. I wonder how long he has been away and why?? Anyway there were two chickens the duck and the goose hanging out in the barn. I took some pictures and gave Jesse and Troy carrots. Troy got spooked when I took his picture and it took Jesse a long time to decide the carrots were worth coming over to us for.

Now Eleanor is home from school. I've brought in the wood for tonight. Now I have to figure out what I'm making for dinner, make dinner and then off to book club at Kristen's. We are reviewing "The Help" I liked.
